Nina and Andrew’s New England farm wedding was a day of classic elegance, highlighted by personal touches that honored the couple’s Mexican and Scottish heritages. From the mariachi band to the hand fasting ceremony, Nina and Andrew made family and culture a priority on their wedding day. To share their love of their home region with family traveling from around the world, they made sure to add some New England charm with a classic clambake dinner and dessert from a favorite local creamery.
The Morning
Nina spent the morning getting ready at the couple’s home near the venue. As soon as we walked in, we knew Nina was already there by the sound of Taylor Swift echoing through the house. Her sister was putting together bouquets, while her little niece was running around snacking on cheese and fruit. While Nina finished curling her hair and putting on her dress, we grabbed some detail shots of the invitations and rings. Nina and Andrew’s wedding rings are particularly special because they are handmade! Nina is a jeweler, and they made their rings together at her shop.

The Ceremony
Held at Castle Hill Farm in late Summer, the ceremony’s minimalist style was complimented by wide green fields and sunlight trickling through the leaves of the willow trees. Nina and Andrew proved that you don’t need a lot of decorations if your venue is beautiful!

Newlywed Portraits
Nina and Andrew had communicated to me that they wanted to be present throughout the day, which for them meant minimal to no formal portraits. After the ceremony, we took about five minutes to get a few posed shots in before they joined cocktail hour. We made sure to focus on documenting candid moments of the couple enjoying their time with each other and their loved ones for the rest of the day.

The Reception

For dinner, Nina and Andrew had a classic New England-style clambake, complete with lobster, oysters, and corn on the cob. The “How to Eat a Lobster” instruction sheet and plastic bibs were the perfect touches for their dinner theme!

Before the dancing kicked off, Nina had an outfit change. In cool bride fashion, she donned a white mini dress and oversized yellow sunglasses to match her comfy sneakers. It’s so fun to see more of the bride’s personality shine through with a late-night outfit change (and it’s much better for dancing the night away!)

New England is known for its dairy shops and family-owned creameries. Instead of handing out the typical slices of cake, guests enjoyed personalized ice cream cups from Nina and Andrew’s favorite local ice cream shop, Ferris Acres Creamery!
